Needing to prove a diagonis

my sons employers are asking him for a letter from his GP on his diagnosis 

should they be able to ask for this or is it discrimation

  • They may be able to argue its for HR purposes so that they can adjust internal process to take account of any adjustments. If they have an occupational health service then I would provide to a doctor / nurse.

    The law says that you do not need have a diagnosis to get adjustments. However, if they refuse reasonable adjustments then you would need to prove this at tribunal. I think it wrong to ask for this but can understand why.

    I would ask them why they want this and for what purpose before making rash decisions about discrimination.
