Is it common for people on forums to respond with very long, essay-style replies or copied material (for example, content generated by ChatGPT or pasted from other websites)? I find it frustrating when I ask a straightforward question and receive lengthy paragraphs instead of a concise, direct response.

    This may be a reflection on the complexity necessary for the response and/or the individual persons incapacity at that point to generate a concise, direct response.

    Not everything is simple and straightforward nor are people in my experience - even though in some ways life might be easier where its so!

    If the answer is so straightforward why would one need to ask?
