Forums

Is it common for people on forums to respond with very long, essay-style replies or copied material (for example, content generated by ChatGPT or pasted from other websites)? I find it frustrating when I ask a straightforward question and receive lengthy paragraphs instead of a concise, direct response.

  • So I can’t defend the use of ChatGPT, since I don’t understand the appeal of it. Someone else can speak to that. In regards to using material copied from other websites: It is so easy to just say whatever you want on a forum with no proof, so some of us want to show that we have proof.

I agree that I prefer straight-forward responses as well, but some on here find it difficult (probably myself included) to keep it concise when it is a subject we are interested in or have knowledge in.
