Toothpaste

Toothpaste. Has anyone managed to find a toothpaste that doesn’t taste absolutely horrible? I used to use a Colgate Total toothpaste (which did taste unpleasant) but then they recently changed the recipe and it became much more horrible. I’ve since been trying lots of others and I hate them all.For example a Sensodyne Repair and Protect that has the most appalling texture. Lots of the, I’ve tried and they’re all horrible. Plus they are so expensive that trying different ones and not liking them is costing me a lot of money.  So I thought I’d ask on here to see if anyone has any recommendations.
When my children were very young they had a very nice strawberry flavoured toothpaste. So why can’t there be a toothpaste for adults that isn’t always minty or just horrible tasting? We’ve put a man on the moon so why can’t we make a toothpaste that tastes and feels nice?

  • I had a strawberry toothpaste when I was younger too. Try Oralieve. They do a very mild mint one that I found perfectly tolerable. They also do a flavourless one but I've never tried that.

I did see an advert for flavoured toothpaste recently. They did a variety of flavours but were extremely expensive so I didn't bother trying it. I think it was called zing.

  • I’ve just looked up Zing (I’d never heard of it) - it looks so interesting - thank you! I’ll check out Oralieve too. I’m so glad I asked on here about this - this community is so wonderful, helpful and supportive!

  • I use zing, I have lemon, peach or kiwi and apple. Peach is my favourite. They are really nice toothpastes. I bought it because I have worn my enamel away from grinding my teeth at night and also from eating ice poles every day for about a year!  And these toothpastes repair the enamel, or they claim to. They aren’t cheap but I only buy when on a special offer. They taste gentle and calming.
