What are you currently watching?

I thought it would be nice to know what other people are watching.

For me, I'm watching My Love Story (anime), Gilmore Girls (American TV show) for the millionth time lol, and They Kiss Again (Taiwan TV show). I also like to watch Twitch VODs, and BTS lives and videos.

I have some other shows I'm watching that I've kind of put on hold as well because I always start new series that are of more interest to me, but I always try to go back and finish them.

Parents
  • I’ve just finished the recent series of Patience, really enjoyed it and look forward to the third series. Didn’t like the new D.I at the beginning, but I am warming to her.

  • I didn't like the second series at first, but stuck with it (even though the new DI constantly calling her "headphones" made me want to scream) and by the end I thought it was ok.

I preferred "Dinosaur" on BBC though.

  • I felt they took the repetitions of "headphones" far too far before correction.

I was concerned bullying muppets in the real World would take their lead from this perceived "permission" to name call like that neurodivergent people wearing headphones out and about.

I did in recent weeks experience a group of 3 teenage lads (about age 14 in secondary school uniform) in a large supermarket snigger walking past me quietly saying to each other ...do you get extra points for headphones? (people assuming ear defenders / headphones wearers cannot hear - well I still can do so).

At the time I was actually wearing low-profile V_s ear defenders (which I had comfortably been wearing all day as it had involved bus journeys, errands on foot around a city, visiting a museum and their super-noisy café (they have a food / drink open front display fridge in there which sounds fir all the World, well - to me, like the engine room of a pre-WWII ship).

I suspect the sniggers might actually have had more to do with the hideous, heightened and emboldened "Red versus Blue" rivalry trend among schools at the moment - rather than that age group necessarily watched Patience.

However, they did the snigger- )about-headphones-routine, twice, as our paths crossed during that supermarket visit at the end of a tiring sensory day - so I could have done without that garnish to the day.

  • Had I been Patience, the DI would have faced disciplinary action. Depictions like that fuel ableism. Dormouse, I am sorry that you experienced such hurtful ignorance from those young people.
