What are you currently watching?

I thought it would be nice to know what other people are watching.

For me, I'm watching My Love Story (anime), Gilmore Girls (American TV show) for the millionth time lol, and They Kiss Again (Taiwan TV show). I also like to watch Twitch VODs, and BTS lives and videos.

I have some other shows I'm watching that I've kind of put on hold as well because I always start new series that are of more interest to me, but I always try to go back and finish them.

  • I watch The Great British Baking Show all the time!  It’s my fave baking show!  Only thing I don’t like is that they don’t give enough instructions for the technical.  That just doesn’t make sense to me.  Even if you’re a pro baker, you need a freakin’ recipe!  I love Noel and Alyson!  I think they’re the best combo for hosts.  I miss Mary Berry.  Love Paul.  Prue’s okay but find her voice somehow to be a bit annoying.
Anyways, LOVE GBBS! Or I guess it’s also called Great British Bake Off.
I tried watching Canadian version and don’t like it.
Watching American British Baking Show now too and because Paul and Prue are there and show stuck to exact same production as British Bake Show, it’s been good so far.

  • But thats the whole point of the technical challenge, you have minimal instructions to test your skill as a baker, I do think it's tough when a participant has never heard of the item before, let alone tasted it, but if you know its a sweet yeasted dough, for example, then you can sort of work it out, it's why it's a technical skill test.

  • In the UK The Great British Bake Off started its life as programmes on a BBC TV channel, then in subsequent seasons; it moved to Channel 4.

I think the Channel 4 website offering extra information may be limited to digital streaming of back issues of the episodes after it has been aired on the TV channel.

That said, there is a programme website where you can filter to the, to date, e.g. 288 technical recipes and then further sub-filter by which Chef set the particular technical challenge:

    thegreatbritishbakeoff.co.uk/.../

However, if you are watching earlier season episodes - from the BBC era; you might find some of the recipes of interest among these 277 on another (BBC Food) website:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/search?q=Great+British+bake+off

For instance, you can use the Filter to the Chef's name such as Mary Berry (65 recipes), Paul Hollywood (63 recipes) of the BBC era of the programmes.

    From the episode lists:

    https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1877368/episodes/

Season 1, Episode 1, (as an example), you might be reminded about Mary Berry's technical challenge of a Victoria Sandwich cake - you can then add to the BBC Food search bar the name of the programme and the dish "Great British Bake Off Victoria Sandwich" to locate the recipe:
