What are you currently watching?

This one is on i-player but the series is a refreshingly great idea - Extraordinary Portraits. Ordinary people who've had out of the ordinary experiences /achievements are painted or sculpted by an artist chosen by Bill Bailey. These are displayed in a gallery before the sitter is given the piece. It's a pity they can't create 2 , with the other going to the  National Portrait Gallery. Incidentally, if you want to see their collection, this is a reasonably-priced paperback with full colour images.

Extraordinary Portraits is an excellent series and I watched it when it first was shown. It left a lasting impression of the artists’ thought processes that go into the portraits. The insight into the characters was fascinating. It’s a mystery to me how talented artists can tell a story of someone’s life from their face and are able to translate it into a single portrait.
