Pendent light fittings

There are a load of options out there depending on how fancy you want it, but the one above is £32 - your local hardware supplier should be able to get a simple one for well under a tenner - just search for "light mounting plate hook".

eBay had loads of options and I suspect Amazon will have too.

I hopefully don't need to remind you but please make sure it is screwed into a joint overhead as it will rip out if it is only affixed to plasterboard. The installer should use a stud funder to locate this and avoid an embarrasing mistake when if falls down.

Thanks for trying Iain, but all the ones I can find using your search criteria are metal, which I can't have, the electrician will be installing new fittings.

I know, I looked at them and there are 12 or more, there were one or two I could maybe live with, I'm happy to get rid of the one in the living room, I've never liked it or the one in my bedroom, but I'd like to replace it with something I do actually like and want to look at in my house. I don't actually use the overhead lights, always lamps as I find the light more friendly, I find overhead lights oppressive and either too bright or they cast to much shadow.

I did see a couple of things on etsy that might be alright, one for my room at least, but the living room one will be a joint descision and thatd where the fun and games will start.

As there are 10 pages of light fittings on that website I'd hoped there might be something there you might like. An alternative might be to get one with fittings the same as one you currently have (which is presumably to your taste) and just use the fittings.

Unfortunately because light fittings normally have an earth connection the lights that are available as class 2 will be very limited - I think that website had one of the largest ranges that I had found.

Thanks Trev, I just had a look, no slurs on you, but Ye Gods, aren't ceiling light fittings minging? I just had a look at some of the other stuff and most of thats more of the same.

What type of bulb is it? You show the shade which is nearly identical to mine.

I looked for a class 2 ceiling rose with hanging chain(s) or attachment points and they only seem to be available as a complete lamp, however you can get a standard class 2 pendant:
