Travelling!

Hey everyone, Matthew here.

For a while now I have had issues with travelling in the car. I have car sickness medicen and yet I am afraid to go out in the car. Sometimes I can go out, but for me sometimes isn't good enough. I want to go out a lot but most of the time I can't bring myself to go out, and that's a problem because of my ill Gran my Dad finds himself going to see her a lot and sometimes I want to go with him but cannot.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has the same problems as me. And if you do please could you tell me how you manage to go out because for me it is a real issue, one I don't seem to be able to solve. I do have a fear of being sick but it can't be that because I have medicen so what do you suggest i do, does anyone else have the same issues?

Thanks to everyone who replies.

Regards,

Matthew. Smile

I expect that you don't really look forward to going to see your Gran, is she in hospital or a home? I have had to visit people in hospital and old people's homes (before I was diagnosed with AS) and I always found it very stressful as I often imagined myself in their position. This might get easier each time you go as you get used to it more and you get to know that the staff are usually nice and helpful and caring.

Also, you can be proud of yourself about the times that you are able to go. I expect your dad is pleased that you can go sometimes as this will give him some company and someone to talk to. I hope he isn't angry that you don't feel able to go every time?

Sometimes I think it helps if you focus and remember the things that you CAN do, like sometimes going to see your gran, rather than things you CAN'T do like not being able to see your gran every time.
