Travelling!

Hey everyone, Matthew here.

For a while now I have had issues with travelling in the car. I have car sickness medicen and yet I am afraid to go out in the car. Sometimes I can go out, but for me sometimes isn't good enough. I want to go out a lot but most of the time I can't bring myself to go out, and that's a problem because of my ill Gran my Dad finds himself going to see her a lot and sometimes I want to go with him but cannot.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has the same problems as me. And if you do please could you tell me how you manage to go out because for me it is a real issue, one I don't seem to be able to solve. I do have a fear of being sick but it can't be that because I have medicen so what do you suggest i do, does anyone else have the same issues?

Thanks to everyone who replies.

Regards,

Matthew. Smile

    Matthew,

Is it the noise and commotion related to going in a car that is the problem rather than the motion of the car? Your car sickness pills will try and deal with the motion sickness rather than the stressy situation of being in a car with other people, in noisy traffic.

Have you got a mp3 player with some of your music to listen to? You might find it calming to listen to this (choose a nice, calming track rather than some heavy metal!) both before and during your journey.

Have you tried noise cancelling headphones? I have some audio technica quietpoint ear phones (about £50 on amazon) that work quite well when I am trying to concentrate. They keep out a lot of traffic noise and this may help you too?
