Two weeks ago I went for a work capability assessment with one of these private firms.   The assessment was very professional.  No complaints. 

I was also asked to fill an expenses form where they promised to refund any travel expenses. 

I claimed my £6 bus fare.

Today they paid £1.50 into my bank account.   Bunch of crooks.

They're the same firm that I was on a Restart scheme with a few years ago.  Then, they also were supposed to refund travel expenses, but if I forgot to ask they never offered. When I did ask they often made excuses not to pay.

  • I may not have a leg to stand on if I complain because according to their website they pay 'Reasonable expenses'.  And a £6 return bus fare may be considered unreasonable by them.  Although it is the real cost.  I remember an MP saying that the unemployed should be able to feed themselves for 20p per meal.
