Music

Do you enjoy music? What music do you like? I love music. I always play something upbeat and fun when I wake up so I star the day off on a high. One of my fave songs to listen to at the moment is There She Goes by Sixpence None The Rich. It's one of my fave songs and they are one of fave groups to listen to.

Do you play any musical intrsuments? I used to play the guitar, a bit, but I wasn't very good at it and I haven't played since I was 12/13. I'm 20 now.

I've always liked music and I used to do singing too.

Music is a special interest for me.

  • Music can be very therapeutic when you find a song to match the mood. Heavy metal for those times you want to give life the finger, alternative metal when you are feeling nostalgic and want to go back to the 00s.

  • I have actually found that when I’m unable to sleep or I wake up in the night and my mind races,  I have to listen to more upbeat and suppose heavy metal music to relax me. For example I would listen to music from Bart Simpson levels which was more heavy metal themed or paper Mario TOK which has a lot of heavy metal music too (especially the tape boss fight). Sometimes soothing music just doesn’t smooth me

  • That’s interesting, the association with happiness and being comfortable is video game music? I can kinda relate but to music from Metal Gear Solid or the Final Fantasy series. Sleep seems to be a big problem for a lot of autistic people, wonder if it’s just that the mind finds it more difficult to shut off completely.

  • I can’t imagine a life without gaming but then I get told that I’m an addict. But I can find gaming to be just as, if not more enjoyable and emotional as tv shows and movies. But I am also glad to see these video games getting their own shows and movie too. Take Mario bro movie for example, for kids it was probably just a fun kids film but for me it was nostalgia of when I was kid growing up. Also love the Kirby anime too, though it’s slightly different to the Kirby games and not many characters from the show are in the game, it’s still nice to see another form of media. I also love collect all different merch whether it’s fan made or from big companies. I actually splashed out on a giant glow in the dark waddledee plush and a chilly the snow man plush the other year and I had to pay quite a bit of p and p and they were coming directly from Japan to the UK. But omg they were here within the week

  • I couldn’t imagine a world without gaming, it’s one of my few interests that’s for sure. It’s never failed me, never goes away, it’s always there when I need it, a life long enjoyment. I remember when I first tried an online game and found out it couldn’t be paused, I knew it was all downhill from there. A good game can be like reading a good book if the script writers have gotten the job right. Games have a huge influence on the movie industry too nowadays which is nice to see as these pieces of art are getting a show on the big screen.

  • I’m exactly the same. I mean I have the year NSO and expansion pack just to play the retro games. I mean I sometimes play co op games like Luigi’s mansion 3 or Mario tennis aces but I’m so not competitive. It is much more fun to play alone and lose yourself sometimes and that’s what keeps the games so fun and enjoyable knowing you aren’t getting treated badly by other real users. My first console was a DS lite which I really loved but unfortunately a bully in my village had broken it. I also sorta claimed ownership of my dads ps2 as he wasn’t using it so I played hit and run on it, also had a dsi but I sold that and completely regret it. I also have a Wii and Wii u, 3ds, switch and now the switch 2. Can’t wait for the Kirby add on to come out!

Yes I also have that problem with sleep aids they can send me off to sleep but then wake up. I don’t think there is anything wrong with us, maybe our bodies don’t need the rest. But when the mind is racing that’s when I play the games or listen to the music as it distracts me
