Naturism (Non-sexual nudity)

There seems to be no mention of this subject here and I wondered if this was due to overzealous mods confusing naturism with sex. Many of us find the feel of clothes adding to our sensory overload and being unclothed is such a relief and a help when overwhelmed. Also the security of a naturist club where you know that all the members have been carefully vetted and where there is no judgement of difference can be a safe place to unwind. It is also a safe place for autistic children as well as adults. Am I the only autistic naturist here?

  • Whilst I do have sensory issues with clothes. I have far greater sensory issues with not being clothed. I don't even like having bare feet let alone anything else.

  • That’s one thing I can’t stand for too long as well - bare feet.

  • I can't even deal with ankle socks because they leave a gap between your trousers and your socks and then you get a difference in temperature in the gap which really bothers me.

I don't particularly like wearing shorts either. Especially short ones because then I can my skin against my skin or the feel of the chair I'm sitting on. Don't enjoy that at all. I give in to them when it's really hot and then I can manage long shorts as it's warm enough that the temperature difference between covered and uncovered is tolerable.

  • shorts are for playing football in or swimming, I do neither,

That is a true autistic answer.

In reality shorts are just an article of clothing and can be worn wherever and whenever the wearer wants to so long as it does not breach and clothing codes.

To my knowledge there is no hard and fast rule that you need to wear shorts when swimming or playing football (I've seen players in leggings ans swimmers in onesies) so in that light it helps to challenge your own preconceptions.

    No judgement, just observing.
