My movie picks of the week - Free Guy and The Hobbit

I watched Free Guy on channel 4 catchup last night and enjoyed it, but now it's unavailable so I can't recommend it to others to watch unfortunately. Today I got half way through watching the first Hobbit movie (An unexpected Journey). I'm not a Lord of the rings fan, but I found myself getting into this film. It's visually really impressive.

If anyone has seen Free Guy, please let me know what you thought of it. I thought the story of a video game non player character who develops into an AI and starts making his own decisions about what he's going to do a really interesting one. Jodie Comer was great in the female lead.

If you want to watch The Hobbit movies, all 3 are currently available on ITVX.

If you're enjoying watching something else, feel free to tell us about it on this thread.

  • This is a great co-incidence, Lotus!

I'm not getting as much time as I would like, lately, to be on here, so I didn't see this post.

Three days ago, I wated The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey with my niece. We both loved it!! Even though she was scared, she really enjoyed it and wants to watch the rest.

I have seen Free Guy on the advice of my nephew. I enjoyed that too - especially the funny film version of many video game tropes. When I'm watching with the youngsters, I am watching through their eyes with their enthusiasm. It's a great way to watch films.
