What are your Yuck and Yum foods?

What are the foods that make you wince? How about the ones that you can always count on?

Wildly enough, I used to be pretty flexible as a kid because of ADHD, but since getting a proper stimulant, I've become picky as hell. This is a problem, since I am a rather serious runner, and should probably know more about nutrition than I do, but since I haven't shown any deficiencies yet, I'm gonna keep on the way I'm going.

Foods I cannot get within a meter of:

  • meatloaf
  • mac n cheese (truly a shame, I know)
  • milk
  • protein shakes
  • any gooey dessert

Go-to meals:

  • uncrustables (arguably 50% of my diet)
  • egg and sausage sandwiches
  • any steamed veggie, but mostly broccoli and cauliflower
  • chicken nuggets
  • fries
  • beans and rice

I'd love to hear yours.

Parents
  • Yuk:  beetroot, mustard, broad/butter beans, asparagus, most boiled veg (except potatoes), most fish & shellfish (white fish in batter or creamy sauce is ok)

Yum: chocolate, most puddings, most cakes, chicken dippers with sweet chilli sauce, sweetcorn, baby potatoes, crispy base pizza with coleslaw or baked beans, Roast parsnips, Natural yogurt with a dollop of strawberry jam, ryvita sour cream & chive thins, spam & tomato sandwiches.

  • Any mention of beetroot reminds me of the Kiwi Burger (New Zealand). It's even on the McDonalds menu over there. I like beetroot but I think in NZ was the only time I've had it since I was a kid.

  • I never go to burger bars since finding out their veggie option arn't really veggie at all, because they're cooked on the same grill as the meat ones, they even coat thier chips in meat powder.
