I'm glad you enjoyed it
Having rewatched it I enjoyed it again, I had forgotten some bits like his version of Jumper when trying to talk the suicidal guy down. Very funny.
It is a film that really makes you wonder about things, like opportunities and whether you should say yes and what might come from that... Then again he did experience a lot of bad stuff and trauma throughout so maybe not
My review of Yes Man:
The overriding idea in this film was that people should say yes to things more, so that they can live a fuller life. It follows a guy (played by Jim Carrey) who is sad and reluctant to do anything because he got divorced, then with the encouragement of a friend he attends a seminar where the speaker tells them to say yes to everything, so he makes a covenant with himself to start saying yes to everything. Lots of unexpected things happen, some good, some bad, but the acting is good and it has a satisfying ending. I enjoyed it - 8/10.
It does make you think about whether you should have said yes to things more. Does anyone have any thoughts about that?
Please post your own reviews of anything you've watched this week on this thread.
Happy Goggling!
I haven't been to the cinema since I was old enough not to be dragged in by my mam I find them too crowded for comfort.
Yeah lol he does look a lot like David Mitchell.
Saw it, in a local Cinema, with my brother; whenever it came out in January 2009.
I first thought Rhys Darby's character was played by David Mitchell.
I hope you enjoy Yes Man – I own it and nearly every Jim Carrey film out there. It’s not a laugh a minute but it is a good lighthearted funny romantic film. It also has Zooey Deschanel in it who I liked in Elf and the New Girl series – and stars Rhys Darby from Flight of the Concords who plays the loveable slightly dumb ‘Norm’ lol.
All in all a fun film and if you like Jim Carrey’s films then you won’t be disappointed.
My own mini-review. I’ll watch it tonight I own it on dvd and will update this, in case I missed out on anything I need to add.
A romantic comedy?? Help
About time I watched one of these so I will definitely try this week. I promise. Watch this space for a review ADHD permitting !!
