oops, I did it again

I went to the doctors earlier and used thier screen thingy to say I was there, only after doing it all right, I was waiting ages so I went to reception to ask how many people were in front of me in the queue as people who were coming in after me were being seen. Only the screen hadn't worked, it hadn't confirmed I was there and had put me down as a no show, luckily the recpetionist told the doctor that I'd been there all along and I was seen. Why does this sort of thing happen to me?

Another bug bear was finding out that I have a floating lump in my shoulder joint that could be seen on the x-ray I had a few weeks ago, but the hospital had put it down as no further acton! Now I'm being refered to the hospital, to see what it is and if they can remove it. It's causing me quite a lot of bother, you know when you hit your elbow and your arm goes useless for a few seconds? Thats happening often when I've not hit my elbow, I keep dropping things as my arm's strength suddenly fails and I have to use my left hand to lift things like pots and kettles, luckily I'm fairly ambidextrous.

  • Lucky you haven't quarrelled with the receptionist (yet) or they might not have been so helpful.  When are you going to learn to leave anything electronic alone?  Can't you go more than 48 hours without breaking something?  Laughing

We can't give medical advice on this forum (says with irony) so there's little point in commenting on the floating lump in the shoulder or loss of strength in arm.  However, an ultra sound should be able to tell them what the former is.  The latter sounds potentially nerve related, but at least you're headed to the best place now.  (Don't touch anything electrical when you get there)

  • The reception staff at my Doctors are lovely, but they want us to use the screen, if I don't go around breaking these things then people will believe they're infallable and inflict more of them on us. Maybe you should embraace your inner gremlin and help bring the world back to good old human to human interaction?

Apparently bits of bone can break off when one has OA and its probably a bone piece thats touching a nerve every now and again. I've not yet broken an ultrasound or even CT scan, a MRI broke me though, I got so clostophobic I couldn't go through with it, also the bed thing you have to lie on is so uncomfortable my back was in spasms after 10 minutes.
