Childhood toy

If you could own and play with one of your childhood toys you owned, which would it be?

I would get Barbie Magic of the Rainbow Elina Doll from 2006. I got this one Xmas from my mum and dad and it became my fave toy ever! I played with her every second I could and took her in to my school show and tell every time we had a show and tell….I treasured her. In the end my mum gave her away to a jumble sale because I was too “old” to play with dolls. I was so upset. I’m in my 20s now and still buy and play with dolls, but if I ever find Rainbow Elina again at a good price I’ll buy her in a heartbeat.

To say I was heartbroken when mine was given away is an understatement!

  • I still have some of plastic farm animals from when I was a kid...still play with them if I have 5 mins of fun time. I wish I got to play with them more. I never had a stable....yours sounds lovely...I did get a really nice farmhouse, it was made of wood and I think it must have been quite vintage. It looked it anyway. I love it though...spent a lot of time playing with that.

  • Although my dog money box tin kennel was my favourite toy, I had horses too, and a farm with cattle, pigs, sheep and trees, all kept in a biscuit tin. I tended to play with toy animals and real animals, and I also enjoyed racing toy cars on a track and building things with Lego. I sometimes built things with a construction toy that was pretty much like Meccano, I think it was Swedish. I didn’t play with dolls except a bit with Sindy’s sister who was possibly called Patch, because she had a pony. I loved my teddy bear and still have him.

  • I also had little plastic farm animals and horses, and a farmhouse and also bought stuff like fences and trees. I built stables for the horses from lego.

  • You have reminded me of the farm animals I had which went on a hand painted board. I remember the excitement of going to the toy shop to choose a new animal.
