Non voter

#Starmer #LabourParty It seems they are intent on doing all they can to make me a non voter. Their stance on welfare is my primary reason for believing that. Yes the Tories and Reform would be even worse, but I need more than just 'at least they're not as bad' to cast a future vote for Labour. I need to know they genuinely care about the disabled and/or vulnerable...That they're not going to punish them for the bad and irresponsible behaviour of those far more fortunate in life. Sadly the signs are far from good. Voting for a Labour party that regards bullying the disabled and/or vulnerable as an acceptable way of proving how competent, and strong, it is, doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

Parents
  • Labour have inherited a disaster. Nobody can fix that overnight or without pain.

And there is no other serious option available.

We have to give them time and be realistic about what is possible.

  • We could always start taxing the wealthy instead and close down the many loop holes they use to avoid paying their fair share. Yes, they did take on a lot of issues but continuing the assault on the vulnerable is not going to grow the economy.

  • I agree there are loopholes that need closed but the top 1% already pay around 30% of the entire income tax revenues. There is a balance between taxing people and encouraging them to avoid tax.

It’s really the top 0.05% we need to look at.

Regardless, if people won’t support Labour there will only be one outcome - a Reform or Tory government which would make things vastly worse.

That’s called cutting off your nose to spite your face.

  • It’s just black and white common sense.

  • The emotional blackmail

    It isn't.

If it were a Labour candidate saying it with a vested interest it might be otherwise.

Look at what has happened in the US.

Sometimes voting is to keep the worst out even if you don't wholeheartedly agree with policies.

That said I am however very disappointed myself in this government for the reasons stated.

  • Yes, we do need to tax the top percent of earners in the UK. I agree that a Reform or Tory government would be much worse. It seems as if all party's are trying to out right wing each other.
