Why won't it snow? Like they said it would?

In the South of Ireland, the bit run by Brussels rather than by London, there were quite a few empty shelves in the Supermarkets. All due to the 'Weather Warning' of Snow.

My brother, when visiting during Christmas, ironically said, "Let it snow!" in relation to the fact we demand safety, rather than initiative. Now, I can see the sense.

People need to loosen the collar; to get more oxygen into our brains. People are too afraid to live, and too scared to die.

  • For some reason it's become really important to me that the promised snow materialised. I think its to do with remembering the very snowy start to Jan 1985 (and, still a child, moving house during it) and wanting that pleasing echo exactly 40 years on. Well, last night, some very small amount (nothing like what we had back then) did settle in my back garden, and something in me relaxed. Snow had settled and stayed. Not much, but enough. Leaving the house this morning, I saw lots of hill snow on the horizon, so that was all rather lovely.

  • Yeah, the Motorways, here, got hit; fierce. Fortunately, I only had to drive locally, today, and I got up; before Nine. (miracle)

    Weather does evoke memories.
