Favourite thing

Hi everyone

This is just for fun really but wondered if anyone wanted to share their own favourite things? My favourite thing and top of the list is bedtime, I don’t always sleep amazingly well but on the whole and as long as I stick to my bedtime ritual I do ok.
I have to have a hot water bottle, a pillow under my knees, a huge pillow on top of my body and my audio sleep mask on which I play natural sound for as long as I’m in bed. Those things have really helped me sleep better and I never deviate from my little routine now.
I obviously have other things I love which include journaling, audiobooks, video games and pretty much anything to do with motorcycles and racing.
My children tease me about loving bedtime so much and it’s a standing joke in our house but it’s the one place I feel the safest.

Parents
  • A good book and a good cat. I had a pile of books delivered yesterday and am looking forward to getting stuck into them. I also love it when my garden's all done and looking good. My other great source of satisfaction is see rows of jars of jams, chutney's and preserves I've made.

  • Love how your jars of jams and chutneys are in a row (as they should be) obviously labels facing forward.

I do love a bit of order.

  • The cupboards are a bit depleted after giving jars away as presents, I do like surprising people with proper old fashioned pickled onions that blow your head off.

I've got a few bottles of green tomato ketchup this year, something I've never made before, it's like a cross between brown sauce and tomato ketchup. Other years I've made damson ketchup, which is just the best brown sauce ever.

Getting proper lables has become problematic the last couple of years, ever since Wilko shut down, I really miss that shop.
