I don't know which is worse

for what it's worth I'd suggest that there are different types of intelligence.  IQ tests test how good you are at IQ tests...  For me personally the tricky thing is that for IQ tests I come out rather high - so often this throws people when my social intelligence appears by neurotypical analysis to be not very good.. 

I tend to explain to people with a joke that goes like this and would share it if that's OK?

Back in the days when people like me where institutionalised  someone had need to change the wheel of their car on the road next to one of the said establishments.

They put the wheel hunts in the hubcap but accidentally knocked it sending them all down a deep drain they had not considered.

Someone watching over the wall asked if they would like a suggestion.

With consent, the watcher suggested that they remove one of each of the remaining nuts from the other wheels for use in the replacement and drive carefully to a better solution.

The car owner thanked the person in the institution for their wise advice and inquired why they were other side of the wall.

"I may be daft, but I'm not stupid" came the reply...
