Robots in films and tv

I've see some films and tv programs where some bloke ends up having sex with an attractive robot home assistant, who starts to take on the role of "wife". I wonder why there are no similar films and tv where it's an attractive male robot home assistant who tries to push the husband aside?

Is it a male sexual fantasy?

Is it a male fear that women would find a hunky young robot more attractive?

Would women not be as interested?

I'd just like to explore this a little more, what would a film with a hunky male robot taking on the "husband" role look like? Would it be the same or different>

  • I wonder why there are no similar films and tv where it's an attractive male robot home assistant who tries to push the husband aside?

A part of this is down to the majority of Hollywood execs and directors / producers being male and making this story from a female perspective would be less appealing to them.

Another part would be that I'm not sure women would find the idea that resonating.

My experience of women is that they want more of an emotional connection to engage in sex, whether in a relationship of something more superficial for casual sex. Men are more willing to project their ideas onto the target of their fantasies and ignore the reality which is probably why there is a much larger market for female prostitutes than for male ones in hetrosexual services.

I would think that a robotic assistant would be too "cold and unfeeling" to be of much interest for the partners I have had based on conversations around the subject.

While various adult toys are certaily popular these days I think a partner level toy would take a different mindset to deal with although I imagine with the way generational thinking seems to be changing then this is a possibility for the future.

I wonder if they would be as prone to busting into flames as Teslas are though - a worrying thought Wink

  • Or would they're batteries run down to quick? Would there be universal charging points or special ones for "Tesla" models like there are with the cars? lol Don't want the smell of burning rubber! Oh-er Mrs!

Yep vibrators have come out of the closet, can't say they do anything for me personally, I think some have attachments that men like too!

I know what you mean Iain, about the idea not appealing to the patriarchy of Hollywood movie exec's. Some women would find a robot for sex OK, lots of women have thier emotional relationships with other women even though they're hetrosexual and married with kids. I think they have a good relationship with thier husbands, but don't get their emotional needs met in the way they need. I wonder if women would have sex with female robots or would lesbianism not be programmed as a function? The thing about a robotic assistant is it would be exclusive and you'd "know" your assistant and feel some sort of relationship with them. I guess part of the attraction of a robotic assistant for a man would be the "Trad Wife" thing, whereas for women there's no real equivalent.

Sorry I'd like tis to be a serious thread, but it's also funny and is causing me to break out into Carry On style humour.
