Muchly confused

Since last Friday (8th November 2024), I have been unable to sign into my 'Sporadic Sparkly account without seeing this (see image below), which spans the width of the page.

There is an 'X' I can click on to get rid of it, which is helpful, but my experience so far is that as soon as I navigate my way around this site to do other things, it reappears.

Early yesterday morning I had signed into this account to establish if I could actually post anything without it automatically ending up in Room 101. After clicking on the 'X' to get rid of the highly distracting notification banner, I noticed something new (see image below).

Feeling curious, I thought, "Oh, what's this?" and promptly clicked on it. This resulted in the appearance of the following menu (see image below).

I then clicked on 'System Notifications' and saw this (see image below). It was hard for me not to roll my eyes and think, "Tell me something I don't already know!" Rolling eyes

Before it is suggested I e-mail the Community Manager, I already have and it is apparently being investigated by the IT team.

In the event that this post doesn't end up being automatically placed under review, I am curious to find out if all the images I have uploaded will be visible in this post. In editing mode, I can only see 1 of the 4 images. This is not a new issue (for me), as it's one I experienced pre-upgrade.

  • The time is currently approximately 9:30am (UK time) on Saturday 16th November. Having signed into my default Sporadic Sparkly account, there is no sign of the annoying orange banner at the top of the page.

It's a relief, but I shall refrain from allowing my sense of relief to consume me, or at least not just yet. For all I know, posting this reply to my original post could cause it to return, or trigger some other tech-related issue.
