Fidget toys

Hello, can anyone recommend a good fidget toy? I've tried a handful of different types and can't seem to find one that is satisfying. It either makes too much noise or doesn't have a fluid/repetitive enough motion for my likes.

Very curious to hear about everyone's preference!

Growing  up, my #1 stim was hair twirling. For whatever reason it was deemed inappropriate  behavior and I was disciplined for it in elementary school. That caused me to shave my head in an effort to stop and my stim quickly changed to finger picking. Needless to say my poor cuticles suffer Disappointed

  • I'm also on a fidget toy finding mission. From comparing online and social media reviews of various products against how I got on with them myself, I soon realised that finding the best fidget toy is a deeply personal thing.

Everything about it has to be "just right", including type, size, weight, texture, colour, build quality, noise level and fluidity of movement (as you said), and more.

    My current favourites are:

    • Calm Buddi - a small fidget turtle (made from recycled plastic, as it happens), with an opening shell and spiky pad for pressing your finger or thumb against. Can be used very discreetly.
    • ONO roller - I have a couple of these. I used one of them recently when talking with someone and they didn't even bat an eyelid.
    • Tangles - I have quite a few of these, in different colours :)
    • An infinity cube.
    • An octopus-style popper - with 8 small popping bubbles, and one large one.

On order / on their way:

    • Stimara Stimagz Series II - a set of magnetic fidget sticks, bought via Kickstarter (campaign now closed), with the full colour range launching soon on their website (linked).
    • ONO Signets - a set of magnetic fidget balls covered in differently textured layers of silicone (currently only available via Kickstarter, per this link)
  • The ONO Signets seems interesting I'm tempted to go for something like that

  • Annoyingly, they messed up with the Signets.

A recent campaign update explains that the size they'd planned to make wouldn't have been allowed under laws that are designed to prevent children from swallowing magnets (even though they would only have been marketed for age 14+).

The new size is too big for my liking, so I cancelled my pledge. :(
