Characters you think are autistic

Hi. Does anyone here ever see characters in tv, movie or books and feel like they are probably autistic? I do this a lot. Just curious to know if anyone else does this.
One character I always feel is autistic is Newt Scamander from Fantastic Beasts (Harry Potter). I see so much of myself in him, quiet/socially awkward, he has difficulty understanding and communicating with people, prefers animals to people, eccentric, loves his special interest, obsessive, notices the littlest things others often miss......and he's eccentric. I don't think he's written as autistic, I've never read he was, but I see so much autism in him. And I do with other characters as well.

  • All. The. Time! Especially books, though that might be more because that is my main access to fiction. I have a private theory that more authors are autistic than in the average population, and more readers as well, especially now that attention spans are getting shorter. Undiagnosed of course.

Showing my age, but a while back I re-read some of the early Famous Five books that I grew up on (I know they are problematic now, but nostalgia) and was shocked at how obviously autistic I found George and her father to be.
