My son is due to go to college next year in the next town. He has a disabled bus pass but the train may be the best option. However the difficulty for him would be getting tickets. As he will only be going 3 days a week not sure if a season ticket would work. He either needs a topped up ticket or something on his phone. We live in England.
Just wondering if anyone is aware of any options that might work.
Thank you. I presume they must still have staff on the platform so maybe when we take a trial journey with him we can ask someone then.
You mentioned a disabled bus pass but why not apply for a disabled persons rail card which gives a third off all fares? Unsure if this would be suitable for your commute but worth looking in to. It has more than paid for itself for me.
Glad you have found a solution. You can book assistance as well when using the railways. I use this to help me find out where my train leaves from which platform and also to meet me off.
Thank you for the suggestion. I checked it out as I have now found we can get a termly card so don't need to purchase tickets but can't use a disabled pass with that. Hoping this works for him.
