Train tickets

My son is due to go to college next year in the next town. He has a disabled bus pass but the train may be the best option. However the difficulty for him would be getting tickets. As he will only be going 3 days a week not sure if a season ticket would work. He either needs a topped up ticket or something on his phone. We live in England.

Just wondering if anyone is aware of any options that might work.

  • I think it depends where you live, my train provider has only just started using top up cards for season tickets across the whole area not just at their London stations. You can also work out on their website which length of season ticket is best value compared to buying daily tickets. Here you can get weekly, monthly or annual tickets. If your station still has a ticket office might be worth asking them
