Anyone Like Beaches And Castles?

I love such places, along with railways and trains! Historic places... Nice scenic places! 

Not keen on crowded places though. Prefer rural exploring in the countryside!

  • I love beaches and I also like castles, although it's been a long time since I last visited a beach or castle.

    When I was a child, my paternal grandparents lived in The Gower (South Wales), just a short walk from Three Cliffs Bay. Providing the weather was dry, visits would almost always consist of walks around the ruins of Pennard Castle, overlooking Three Cliffs Bay. I also became well acquainted with the other beaches around The Gower.

    I grew up in Southeast Wales and remember visiting several Welsh castles and castle ruins. The ones that spring to mind are Raglan Castle, Caerleon Castle, Oystermouth Castle, Cardiff Castle, Caldicott Castle, and Castell Coch. The latter made more of an impression on me because it really is like something out of a fairytale.

    The ruins of Newport Castle (South Wales) and Usk Castle were also familiar sights to me.
