  • Hi again - my son is only 6.  I didn't ever want it to be a secret and wanted it just to be part of who he is.  Also he was asking about his hospital appointments so it just came up in conversation.  I really focus on the positive stuff he can do really well and then talk about the things he finds trickier.  We also have another book from NAS called 'How Joshua learned' which my son really relates to.  I don't think for a minute he's taken it all in but I just preferred to be open and honest and then we can talk about it whenever.  I really worried about telling him but so far so good!
