3 Good Things (Redux)

Since the thread, which began May 2021, seems to have vanished, I wish to create a new one.

From Darkness to Light. Smiley

1. I paid for a condensed tumble dryer, which I reserved on Tuesday; for delivery, tomorrow. Also paid for a three-year warranty. (In cash)

2. I made a poem, entitled 'Storm in a teacup', about the arrival of Agnes. (SEYMOUR!)

3. Bought more Farm-Fresh milk today.

Parents
    • Went for a walk today and got to see a train go by on the tracks nearby where I live.
    • Picked some flowers, as found on my walk earlier.
    • Spent some time tuning my Yamaha acoustic guitar and then listened to my John Denver CD.
  • Sounds lovely! I actually like watching trains but hate the sound of them passing by. My first acoustic guitar was also a Yamaha, they have a great range from beginner guitars to a bit fancier ones. Have a nice evening!

  • I'm the same. Lovely to look at but the noise can be unsettling. I love Yamaha, they make some lovely instruments. My first ever guitar on my 11th birthday was a Yamaha, I still have it but don't use it as much as I did then. Have a nice evening tooBlush

  • Phew, so glad! I always worry about joking because online it's so easy to be misunderstood in what you say. If I joke, I try to use an emoji so the reader(s) know it's just fun talk. You sound like a musically creative person, are you best at the guitar or piano? I love the sound of the piano but suck at playing. Lol. I'm much better at the violin, I had lessons as a child and it's something I still do regularly now.
I have never played the ukuelel. LOL! Sorry my brain just can't get that word right Grin
That must be nice having talented friends around you. I would be inspired by them. Sadly I have no such people. My mum (birth mum) was musically gifted, I guess that's what inspired me to follow musical passions. I like writing instrumentals, sometimes it's just the instrument I love to hear... and I like writing actual songs, mostly about autism and loneliness when I'm feeling depressed. I wrote a love ballad once about a girl at school who liked the same boy I did but I never finished it.

The variety of music you can make with just a guitar amazes me.

I think so too. It's amazing how much music can come from a single instrument. I love music, it's amazing.

Funny how some people notice left-handedness as an interesting trait. I barely think about it, but once a friend I’ve known for many years asked me about how it is being left-handed.

I'm one of those who find it amazingly interesting.

  • Don’t worry, I didn’t take it on a bad note! I love that you write music! Never figured out how to start with that, even though I play guitar, piano and a bit of contrabass (well and obviously likewise… Once you manage to play one string instrument you can switch a bit more easily to stuff like the violin or ukulele). There are a few very talented people in my life though. Two friends of mine compose on the piano (one in a classic and even barock style and the other one more modern and expressive). Another friend dreams of making money as a singer-songwriter. What kind of music do you write? This is turning into a guitar rant, but what can I say. The variety of music you can make with just a guitar amazes me.
