3 Good Things (Redux)

Since the thread, which began May 2021, seems to have vanished, I wish to create a new one.

From Darkness to Light. Smiley

1. I paid for a condensed tumble dryer, which I reserved on Tuesday; for delivery, tomorrow. Also paid for a three-year warranty. (In cash)

2. I made a poem, entitled 'Storm in a teacup', about the arrival of Agnes. (SEYMOUR!)

3. Bought more Farm-Fresh milk today.

  • 1. It's Christmas Eve Eve :-) - and my last hours in work of 2024.

    2. Tomorrow - 24th - is my fave day of the year.

    3. Doctor Who treats on tonight, tomorow afternoon, and on 25th. Yay!

  • What are the treats? I can only see the Christmas special on 25th? I quite like Doctor Who. I'm not a mega-fan but I've been watching since John Pertwee!

  • The Doctor Who Proms gets its awaited telly broadcast at 4.10 on Christmas Eve. And tonight, on BBC4 at 9 pm they've done a special colourised edit of the Second Doctor's final story from 1969. It was the last black and white story and the last story of the Sixties.

Now, I must admit that as a purist, I consider it a fun one-off experiment, and that really one 'ought' to watch the actual monochrome ten-parter in full to see the story as intended. And yet, there it is tonight, maybe bringing to it some people who otherwise wouldn't have given it a try... and it might be their gateway to the very earliest phase of the show's past - that first decade. So I'll raise a glass to it (well, a mug of tea), even as I wince at the editing liberties taken!
