3 Good Things (Redux)

Since the thread, which began May 2021, seems to have vanished, I wish to create a new one.

From Darkness to Light. Smiley

1. I paid for a condensed tumble dryer, which I reserved on Tuesday; for delivery, tomorrow. Also paid for a three-year warranty. (In cash)

2. I made a poem, entitled 'Storm in a teacup', about the arrival of Agnes. (SEYMOUR!)

3. Bought more Farm-Fresh milk today.

Parents
  • 1. Had my yearly check-up for my overarching condition, consultant was lovely and symptoms all okay.

    2. This morning the air was suddenly cold, but still sunny.

    3. A really lovely person noticed on the train that I was blind, and actually asked if I wanted them to help me get off at the other end or if I was okay, rather than just assuming.

  • Hello Sphinx!

It is lovely to "detect" your reappearance here, again.

It is good to hear that that your experience of "Joe Public" is still, on occasion, a positive one.

For me, it remains the case that it is predominantly our animal cousins who sustain my faith in the world.

    Warm wishes to you.

  • Aw I've only just seen this. That feels resonant, Number. There is so much care and beauty in the non-human animal world. I wonder what our lives would look like if we assessed ourselves against the standards of, for example, cetaceans for a change... But there are some good humans too and it does feel important to remember that when I can. Not always easy.

Warm wishes to you too :)
