It may be September, but we’re keen to hear your stories of how you make Christmas work for you or how you make Christmas autism-friendly. We know that while Christmas can be an exciting time for some autistic people, it can also be overwhelming due to increased sensory experiences, changes in routines, and expectations about how to celebrate.
We’d love to hear your stories of how you make the festive season work for you, and your family and friends. Share your experience below or by emailing stories@nas.org.uk
"Alleged"! How dare you allege that I am alleging!

I've been to something similar to this for Beltain.
Near where I live there is a burning of the wicker man celebration at night.
I will try to look out some photos I took.
Superb event, and very much ties in with how I feel too.
My personal preference would be to celebrate the winter solstice, but I think my family would be quite upset if I opted out of Christmas entirely!

I blame it on the eggnog - frightful stuff.
At least I get to look forward to Christmas on the beach here in Brazil - it will be mid summer so probably 30-35C, lots of great food, cold beer and hot locals in the tiniest of swimming cozzies - makes me feel young again.
Anyone fancy getting away from it all?
Omg I wish I could see an alternate reality where Christmas isn't a thing
It would be so interesting to see what's different in the world if Christmas wasn't a thing.
I bet it would be a better world. It would for autistic people anyway lol :)
If that season could be erased from history I wouldn't miss it :)
If it were erased from history, I wonder what religions we would now have in the world ...(instead of those based on the 'story' of Christ) ...
I wonder whether many of the older, pagan beliefs would have survived.
Neither would I Goosey,
Absolutely !!
Ben
Christmas?
No thanks ^^
When I went to Home Bargains, I looked for the "alleged" presence of 35p noodles. They do not exist at my local store ! You could buy 3 packets of cheap noodles for £1.20.....but no individual packets for 35p.
Don't worry, I will be able to forgive you for the false hope and false promotion that you inflicted upon me....but it will be difficult and will take time.
Wounded Number.

Exactly! It’s way too early!
Don't do it Debbie it's a trap!
Thank you for my second giggle of the day.
It's a bonus giggle day today
I LOVE Halloween and Bonfire Night.
Favourite time of year.

I'd like your house.
I refuse to think about this in September! We haven't even had Halloween yet, and even if we had, I'd pretend otherwise via the excuse that it's actually ALWAYS Halloween at my house.
I worked in Bargains and it was a soul crushing experience. At Christmas time it's even worse.
RIP anyone who goes in there ️

You're not tempting me ...
Then you're missing out on delicious packets of 35p noodles
...then you are potentially missing out on so many things that you thought you didn't need.....and probably don't need.....oh wait....I've confused myself.......it's that blasted Elf struggling to get away from under my hob nailed boot perhaps !
I avoid every aisle of Home Bargains.
Thank you for that giggle
Seconded
