Using our Universal Autistic Universal Super- Power for good.

What Universal Super Power I hear you ask?

That's a manifestation of it...

We are essentially Annoyiing People. Now I know that is a very aut-ist thing to say but it is I am sure the more enlightend reader will agree, an essential truth.

We are annoying to others.

Some people leave the forum they find this truth to be so manifest, often whilst denying it.

Fortunately for me during my half century of not so blisfull ignorance of my own autism I had manged to observe absorb adn cope with teh basic fact that most people find me annoying.

Some instantly, some over time.

SO how do I use my powers for good?

Simples: When that phone rings and a gentleman with a strange accent and poor audio introduces himself as Ramesh, and apparenlty the Motior Insurance Bureau has notified him of my recent vehicle accident, I simply ask him: "Which one?".. At this point Romesh starts scrambling for information, so I press home my request for information, and he eventually manages to tempt me It's the one this year or last". I again ask him "Which one?" (Since I've now established that he is of course lying, for me it's permission to take the gloves off and get "creative" mysellf...)

By taking up the time of these people, and delivering no rewards whatsoever, I reduce the probability that they will find a gullible victim.

God made me annoying, but he gave me a whole lot of choice in how I use my gift....

  • I realized this morning I might already be doing this. The netball club that got me suspended from Netball Scotland for 5 years were offering a free top to new members who paid for 3 netball sessions when I joined them. (Probably so they could deliberately not give me one, in case their false accusations didn't work, so I'd know how unwelcome I was there.) Naturally, I've never received mine. So I've e-mailed and asked for it about 6 times now.

I got an e-mail from Netball Scotland last week telling me that I wasn't going to get the free top and if I continue to contact the club , the club will contact the police and accuse me of harassment.

I intend to keep asking for it until I get the free top or a refund of the money I paid for the netball sessions.

  • I'm not sure a campaign of harassment against people who I believe already reported you to the police is using it for good.

It might be difficult but you need to draw a line under the whole situation and move on, because you're just proving them right at this point.
