Sectarian Attack on Autistic Lad in Derry

A twelve-year-old boy, from the Protestant end of Derry, was attacked by Youths asking him whether he supported Celtic or Rangers. He was diagnosed with Autism, and was placed in instant panic.

God how awful.

To take this centuries old prejudice out a kid who can't even understand this.

My heart hurts.

I say this as a Derry catholic descendant who believes in a united Ireland free from the UK, but has no truck with savagery or prejudice.

My alligences here are with this autistic kid who has no notion of the history of this divide and just wanted to play.

Ditto, except replace Derry with Cork, the other half's Irish side however is actually Derry.
