Scripted is fine, if I have to prepare to talk with say a customer, I’ve learned the names of their children, wife and what hobbies they have. A random phone call is like ‘ a rabbit in the headlights’. A random response in a conversation is really me thinking, “please go away,” the random words are me not having enough bandwidth to communicate properly.

My brain has lots of scripted responses stored but is really bad at picking the right one for the situation.

So many times someone has talked at me for several minutes and all I could say in reply is yes or okay

That’s very true, the one bellow is how I normally react, if it’s a stranger, the reply will just be random.
