Way back in 2013, my mother started asking me if I had seen a particular programme on Channel 4. I kept being told that I simply HAD to watch it because it was absolutely hilarious. Her description of it caused me to think it sounded rather ghastly. "It features people watching TV and commenting on what they have seen. Some of the things they say are priceless!"
As I've never understood the appeal of people watching YouTube videos of people playing video games, I was struggling to understand what could possibly be so enjoyable and entertaining about this programme that my mother kept talking about. If you haven't already guessed, the programme was Gogglebox.
Eventually, I decided to watch it. My mother had spent weeks telling me about the antics of the 'posh couple' who always appeared to be in an inebriated state, so I figured that I had to at least find out for myself what all the ridiculous hype was about. Well, I was hooked.
Yes, my guilty pleasure (one of them) is watching Gogglebox.
Do you have any guilty pleasures that you care to share? - Please keep it clean folks!
Oh no. I'm glad my pic didn't cause you any unwanted stomach upset.
Ironically I also don't like Turkish Delight LOL.
My stomach is weird it can't cope with a lot but that chocolate cream it's fine with, whereas, a simple apple or something makes me feel or be sick. My daughter was the exact same. I hope my next won't be.
I don't think I've ever tried those. The image on the packaging makes me think of Rice Krispies cakes and Cornflakes cakes (the ones that come in foil trays, or at least they used to).
Ooh, not for me. However, as long as it is what brings YOU pleasure, then that is all that matters.
I feel incredibly relieved though that the picture wasn't of Fry's Turkish Delight - No offence intended to anyone that does like Turkish Delight, but just the thought of it causes me to feel nauseous.
"Have a delight with Twilight chocolate"

I loved John Thaw! Terrific actor and a lovely man from what I've read. I loved him in Inspector Morse, 11/10 performance.
My daughter was a huge Squares fan love her.
Frys chocolate cream
I also really like Squares:
I like these biscuits too!
I can be prone to doing similar with packets of chocolate chip cookies, so this doesn't surprise me.
I'm eating another box now.....i'm a hopeless addict haha
I can understand why. Yum!
I would never wish to be on Gogglebox either. Aside from having no desire to appear in front of a video camera, I would feel mortified if the viewers were to see the state of my home... I'd feel compelled to employ a team of professional cleaners. Also, I prefer to watch TV with the lights off.
The mention of Minstrels has made my mouth water. It's been a while since I last treated myself to a pack of those.
Oh my guilty pleasure at the moment is these Bahlsen biscuits:
That is annoying. I also wonder what the storylines will be considering the "last episode" really ended the programme in a final way. I think many characters went to New York City - I guess they can commute to Erinsborough!
I've never seen Gogglebox, but I couldn't be on it, as I demand utter monastic silence when watching TV. If a programme is worth watching, it's worth watching with attention. Admittedly, I mostly watch stuff that depends on atmosphere and is best watched with mood lighting and silence. I don't watch TV with my parents for this reason. I admit that of late I have mellowed slightly and occasionally explain something or point out an interesting (I hope) trivia point to my fiancee when watching Doctor Who with her.
Other than that, I don't think I have any guilty pleasures, except perhaps minstrels (the chocolates).
I enjoy watching Aussie soaps too, although I tend to dip in and out of them. I think the first Aussie soap I ever watched was called Sons & Daughters (back in the 80s). Whilst I'm pleased that Neighbours will be returning, I was disappointed when I heard it wouldn't be to a TV channel I could access on my TV, so I think the days of me watching Neighbours are definitely over.
Britpop is another of my guilty pleasures.
I'm rather partial to Cadbury's chocolate too. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, when I read 'Twilight', my immediate thought was that it was a chocolate bar I'd not heard of until I read the rest of the sentence.
Have to admit that I've never watched Twilight.
I thought John Thaw was a brilliant actor, my youngest son was born on the same day John died, I wanted to give my son the middle name of Thaw, my wife would have it. My eldest son is named Jack, after Jack Regan.
