Music - Cover Versions & Lesser Known Originals

Yes, Wayne's World! I loved those two films. They reflected where I grew up (suburban areas outside of Chicago). At a small concert venue outside London, I met Pete Friesen who was in the first Wayne's World. He was one of Alice Cooper's guitarists and he had a line in the scene when Wayne and Garth went backstage to meet Alice. The next time I met Pete I got him to autograph my Wayne's World video cover. Nice guy.

I loved the Johnny Cash  cover of,” I won’t back down.” He did a version of it not long before he died.

Both version are valid and have there place. 
Cash - is at the end of his life and is looking backwards, he is a sorry for what he has done. Guilt! 
Reznor is starting his life and is sorry because he knows he is flawed, he can’t  offer love, and he knows it. Doomed!

I’m kind of in middle ground, I’m not at the start or the end  of adult life. 
but I feel the pain of both versions. 

A brilliant cover from my childhood was Whispering Grass by Don Estelle and Windsor Davies, I think the original was by The Ink Spots.

I prefer the original by Norman Greenbaum, but the "Doctor and the Medics" version is also good.
