Autism escapism

I am on the spectrum myself. For my Masters degree essay I am looking for data sources regarding autism in relation to escapism. General Google searches aren't always that productive.

For example:

Gaming and loss of social responsibility vs reality (appeal of)
Utilising interests as communications methods
Health benefits of escapism

Can anyone recommend places to find this? Academic papers and the like.

Don’t look for autistic sources.

Autism being a mismatch for society will mean added stress. Look for gaming in relation to de-stressing, longevity. Look for escaping as a means of rejuvenation. Or as a way to create necessary boundaries for uninterrupted time, which one needs to heal. You can’t keep picking at a wound interrupting the process.

Often autistic “traits” are confused with expressions of “trauma”.
