The Smiths: the riches of the poor

Basically, this thread is for me to bore everyone senseless by droning on about the genius of The Smiths and also Morrissey's curious beauty.

More nonsense to follow.

  • Oh I like The Smiths too, and have the albums and a bunch of old 12" singles. I saw them once and only once at a big place in Birmingham, the Hippodrome I think, which was the Meat Is Murder tour. I never anticipated an album so much as The Queen Is Dead. They never quite improved upon it.

Very enjoyable to read this thread upside-down and see all the song title puns. I would never stoop so low as it would get me into a Panic (probably my favourite song).

If you get the chance to read Moz's Autobiography I am not sure I'd recommend it, he is certainly not modest or tactful. Which I admire... but Johnny Marr's book was much better.

All the best, D (the Last In The Gang to join the thread - for now)
