  • Life is always a series of choices with a series of negotiations. I started to recognise certain things were more important than others, such as spending time with someone I love, as time is something we can't earn or create.

I would go. I'd work out a way to make it slightly more enjoyable by wearing cozy woollens and bringing a flask of coffee. This way there's a little decadence in the unbearable environment and it just tips the scales ever so slightly to help me stay focused on the indulgent bits. Just an idea. And maybe bring something to make it more enjoyable for my grandparents.
