VHS tapes

As you'll probably be well aware, I am a ****** massive fan of VHS tapes and physical media. I've never been too big on streaming sites as they're killing the film industry and, if it continues, there'll be nothing left to stream. I'd be interested to know what VHS tapes you had as a child, I had loads and loads of them so I'll list the Brum ones as this is my favourite show.

Brum: Bumper Special - Seaside and 9 Other Stories (1993)

Brum and the Helicopter and Other Stories (1994)

Brum - Biggest Party Video (1998)

Brum - Helicopter Rescue and Brum and the Marching Band (2000)

Brum - Airport and Other Stories (2001)

Brum - Soccer Hero and Other Stories (2002)

Brum - Crazy Chair Chase and Other Stories (2003)

I also had a tape with recordings from Cbeebies, but it wasn't commercially released.

Pretty vast selection, I know. I also had some DVDs, but that's another story. Let me know if you had any of these.

Parents
  • I love VHS tapes and cassette tapes. We had black and white TV for most of my childhood but when we got a colour TV I loved having VHS and we had it long after everyone else had moved onto DVD. I find cassette tapes particularly comforting. I used to record the top 40 charts off the radio onto cassette  and I actually had a cassette walkman until about 3 years ago. People used to give me such surprised looks when I got it out on the tube but I loved it

As for Brum, I love Brum! I actually went to the Brum museum at Bourton on the Water and met Brum and the man from the TV show and had a photo taken with them

  • Must've been a long time ago. Sometime before 1999, as this was when Mike Cavanagh retired. He visited intermittently, but died last year. Do you have any photos?
