VHS tapes

As you'll probably be well aware, I am a ****** massive fan of VHS tapes and physical media. I've never been too big on streaming sites as they're killing the film industry and, if it continues, there'll be nothing left to stream. I'd be interested to know what VHS tapes you had as a child, I had loads and loads of them so I'll list the Brum ones as this is my favourite show.

Brum: Bumper Special - Seaside and 9 Other Stories (1993)

Brum and the Helicopter and Other Stories (1994)

Brum - Biggest Party Video (1998)

Brum - Helicopter Rescue and Brum and the Marching Band (2000)

Brum - Airport and Other Stories (2001)

Brum - Soccer Hero and Other Stories (2002)

Brum - Crazy Chair Chase and Other Stories (2003)

I also had a tape with recordings from Cbeebies, but it wasn't commercially released.

Pretty vast selection, I know. I also had some DVDs, but that's another story. Let me know if you had any of these.

Parents
  • My later childhood was Betamax Video, smaller tapes and better quality. My father payed for a video membership at the local shop. It entitled my brother and I to one film every day. Autistic heaven. When VHS won the battle my father bought the entire Betamax video shop collection. As an 11 year old child we had films like The Stud, The Hills Have Eyes and  Deliverance .I have a boxed set of The Six Million Dollar Man on VHS, I’m old school. Our first VHS machine was the Ferguson Video Star. It weighed about 20 kilos and the remote had a cable attaching it to the machine. My parents way of settling a timer to tape a program was to wind up an alarm clock, (with the bell on the top)and set the alarm, when it rang they pressed the record button. We had a  bookcase which had VHS videos in fake plastic book bindings. My mother has about 200 hours of home videos on VHS, I’m in about 10 minutes of them as I hated being filmed.
