Temperature

It's hot here again. 30c today and then 35 for the next 3 days. I don't do too well in the heat so I'm suffering at the moment.

I'm trying to keep cool and not worry too much but it's feeling hot here already and it's getting to me.

  • I’m in the same boat as you on this one. I do not do well in the heat. People love this stuff and are really happy about the ‘lovely’ weather, but I’m completely the opposite to them. It makes me worry too. I’ll spend a lot of the day checking I’m doing all I can to keep the house as cool as possible, and spend lots of energy pacing around going over my checks over and over again. It’s going to be a fun few days…

Im going to try and keep my activity to a minimum these up and coming days, so if that’s an option for you, it may be worth considering too.

  • That is what I do too. It becomes an almost military procedure trying to ensure I keep the house as cool as possible and  I pace around throughout the day going over my "temperature regulation" checks. I was up at 6 am to let cool air through the house but now all the windows and curtains are drawn. In my mind it sort of feels like an emergency, the outcome of which depends entirely on whether or not I opened or closed this or that window at the right moment or not. It is exhausting. I am looking forward to when I can relax about the temperature a bit again.

  • I move around a lot as well checking windows but that makes me hotter. I'm going to try and keep still and not burn myself up.

I read that if you put water on your wrist it can cool you down so I do that throughout the day.
