anyone else find "talking to themselves" stops mental stagnation?

currently loving it, saying whatever i want to myself, talking utter crap

had to get out of this place twice today as was driving me insane, just stagnant and felt my personality just not there

but had a long walk, got back, and talking utter idiocy to myself. "sign of madness"? nope, a sign that most people arent worth talking to i think lol.

  • I talk out loud as it helps me follow instructions.

At home, if I go to a room to do something or am preparing a meal I do it.

I also talk myself through work if there are lots of stages. It used to annoy a colleague so had to whisper, but fine now I work from home.

  • Yes I have started saying aloud and counting on my fingers for formulating a task. Step one, step two etc.

I also talk aloud in the supermarket. "Right! Butter!" Or "oh no there's no broccoli left". It's like I know I shouldn't be doing it but I don't care. I know the odd person looks at me or hears but a quick process in my brain just says "you shouldn't have done that but oh well". I think it's a way to focus my mind.
