new year :)

VERY anxious about the new year because a lot of change will occur which um i don't know how to deal with but here's my goals:

- achieve my a levels- get the best possible grades that i can get for whatever situation i end up in

- finish reading a book (i haven't in nearly 3 years lol) and read at least once a week

- continue working hard in therapy, reduce self harm and reach 1 month self harm free

i suppose it is very easy to be hard on myself- a whole year has elapsed and i'm still battling against self harm but i've come a long way this year.

  • New Year Resolutions are good goal setting opportunities, but they do say keep them small and achievable, so you don't put too much pressure on yourself.  Of those you list there, I see one which is really important; the one about self-harm.  Why not focus on this as the primary thing?

The others...well go for it but don't stake a massive amount on them.  I'm sure you'll work hard on your A levels, but if they don't go to plan, it won't be the only opportunity you'll ever have in life to take them or to succeed academically.  The book, well if you finish it, great!  But you have many years and many books, the sun won't fail to rise if you ditch it this year.

Meanwhile, however, there is only one you and it's important that you are unharmed.

Happy 2022 to you.  I hope things look up for you :-)

  • thank you. i hope so! it's so hard stopping agh but i hope to at least widen the gaps between them so eventually i only relapse once every couple months but idk.

happy new year to you too :)
