can you choose a feeling ? by projection of feeling on the end result

working with an interesting concept,, can I choose a feeling. Everything comes with a feeling attached, can you choose the feeling by CHOOSING a good feeling before the task/situation starts by projection of feeling on the end result ? It is the opposite of worrying or using the worry tool in another constructive way.

On a simple example, take doing the dishes,, I hate doing the dishes,, but if I project a feeling of after I have done the dishings,, Phew finished that is good Smile feeling, doing the dishes is an easier task.

  • quote JON ~ "I change the situation then I change my feeling and therfore my thoughts change".

I think, it is same concept but from a feeling change, in lieu of situation or thought change. Changing the feeling probably changes the situation and thoughts, if I was to rely on a situational change, one that I can control are fine, but you are in the hands of the gods with a wing and prayer for the external situations change for the better all the time. Thought changing, just gets me looking at the situation from many ambiguous angles,, stresses me out.

But as Hope says,, if it works for you.

    I got a feeling Wink

  • Sounds a bit like CBT...... Thoughts, feelings, actions. If you change one you effect the other. I personaly find it really hard to 'choose' or 'change' my feeling. The feeling is normaly associated with situation. If I change the situation then I change my feeling and therfore my thoughts change. I use my thoughts to think how to change a situation and therfore my feelings. Some sitiations though are in some ways beyond my control and that is really hard.
