NAS Bashing

Can I suggest a seperate strand for people who want to go on and on about how terrible the NAS is? You are fully entitled to your opinions and they may or may not be valid - that is not my point. But the forum is being inundated by shouty emails, which are not discussions and have a distinctly aggressive tone. Is this the right platform for it? The forum is not a place for discussions between members and the NAS, so it's not surprising that the NAS doesn't respond to your posts. If you have a problem with the NAS, take it up with the NAS, rather than shouting at other people with autism.  If you want to form a group, go ahead - suggest a place where you can get together online and go there - that's why a seperate strand might be a solution, if you stay on this forum. I doubt if I'm the only member who feels this way. I am an aspie and I am an adult and I am frustrated with having to wade through all the anger.

  • Hi all,

Thank you for your posts above. All the comments, and the other discussions started around similar topics, have been seen by the NAS and your feedback on our services noted.

We hope this NAS community service provides a place for people affected by autism, parents and carers to ask for support and receive peer recommendations and advice. My concern here is that when multiple threads are started based on similar topics, it is making it increasingly difficult for new members to find the content and advice they are looking for as they first have to first scroll through the many latest posts.

We appreciate there are some members that are unhappy with the performance of the NAS and would like to take this opportunity to hear your feedback in detail. If you would like to discuss your concerns about the NAS services you have encountered, please email the details and your contact information to community.manager@nas.org.uk. Alternatively, if you would like to make a complaint about the NAS, please send us your completed feedback form.

This discussion is now being locked as, although started by a member to request one location for this discussion, has proceeded to replicate another discussion.

    Best wishes,
    Mike, NAS

  • No Actual Support

Knock Knock nice load balancer- but is your apache and forum safe.

Maybe we should send NAS website back to stone age!

  • sorry for inconveniencing your day-but if homeless it will be more inconvenient than a few emails that upset your all incompassing belief NAS support all.

If you agree that only certain adults should be helped- care to explain how we do not fit the criteria and why NAS don't make marketing reflect this

  • In which case the NAS could do something really progressive ACT AND REPLY

  • Factual accuracy or not, it doesn't excuse bad behaviour on the forum. I stand by my wish to see a seperate strand for NAS criticism, not because I don't want it aired, but because it is aired so aggressively. And I repeat - I do not want to be told to filter my settings - I want to see content by strand title, so I can choose my forum.

  • They have already been reported to charities commission and you can alter forum subscription email settings if you don't like the experiences that have been discussed and are factually accurate.

I have had Proffessor Simon baron cohen contact Mark Lever on my behalf and get nowhere.

Promises of we will look into it but away for duration-then no reply.

  • Stop trying to bully me because it won't work. If you want to call me a stooge or chuck insults around, fill your boots. I have as much right to my opinion as you have to yours. If you want the NAS to deal with your issues, talk to the NAS, or don't like what they do, raise a complaint through the Charities Commission or somewhere where you'll get answers. I don't need your sarcastic "advice" about inboxes.

  • Good for you and when it inconveniences you and I'm made homeless by dwp and NAS inaction.

I'll consider move direct action- how about burning like rome.

Are you by any chance a pet stooge sock puppet of the NAS as you don't seem concerned at their total inaction or assistance.

On asd forum they mirror opinion NAS is a fake charity as it's main funding is government and they cherry pick revenue stream carrying clients and ignore diagnosed adults.

So there are bigger things happening than your email inbox filling up- do you need instructions on altering your email subscription settings?
