could just sit and cry

It feels like my somns whole life is being ripped out from underneth him, we've had to take him out of mainstream school as he cant cope, he will be home tutored til the end of his exams, hes decided he cant go to the school prom as we wont be there for him, and we have had to pull him out f the german exchange holiday as its very obvious that he wont cope as he keeps shutting down. can anyone suggest a holiday or days out that I could take him on so that he has something to look forward to that I can be there for him if needed and maybe meet some other Aspie kids.

  • Hi Barnaby crumble,

I understand your dilemma it is the same with us at the moment.  We Live in the middle of no where also, great for my son most of the time, but when money is tight (i am not working) only my husband, and the nearest town is forty five minutes away, (that is where he does his martial arts class).  It does make it near impossible to be social!  I combine our weekly food shop with the martial arts class and that tends to be it, our weekly outing.  I know off course it is different for me as my son at the moment is still at primary school five days a week.

Keep trying to get your money back for that holiday, you must surely be enntitled to a percentage back esp. considerinng the circumstances did you pay by credit card ? The school must of had some kind of insurance policy for the holiday?  Could you not get a note from your local friendly doctor saying your son was not medically able to go on holiday due to stress?

Thats great your son did his cbt test , that was very brave of him and a real acheivement.  I am sure he will get a little more confident on it , slowly but surely , possibly you could meet him at the petrol station a couple of times for him to be familier with the routine etc.

    Take care,
